Chanelle was inspired to become an osteopath as it perfectly combines her two great passions; working with the incredible human body, and helping people in pain. Chanelle has always been fascinated by the resilience of the body and enjoys surprising her patients with their ability to heal and adapt under the right guidance.
Chanelle enjoys treating people of all ages and backgrounds, from athletes to grandparents and everything in between. She uses a big-picture approach to identify the factors contributing to a patient’s pain, and works with them to create a set of individualised goals to work towards. Chanelle uses osteopathic manual therapy, rehabilitation exercises, and lifestyle education to help patients achieve these goals. She takes both gentle or firm approaches to treatment depending on the issue at hand, and uses both dry needling and myofascial flame cupping. These can be beneficial for the treatment of sports-related injuries as well as osteoarthritis and joint degeneration.
While she happily treats acute pain, Chanelle has a particular interest in the management of chronic pain. This interest has led her to complete a thesis on the effect of chronic conditions on skeletal muscle health. Having experienced it herself, she particularly enjoys helping patients through the challenges of chronic headaches, migraines, and neck pain. Chanelle is also an active member of any health care team and works with GPs, specialists, PTs, dieticians, and others to ensure the best care for her patients.
When she’s not treating patients, you’ll find Chanelle drinking fantastic coffee all over Melbourne.
